Youth Explosion - 6/4/06

Don't Forget Who Your Master Is By Deidre Weiller Ebenezer’s Youth Explosion had its first fiesta/cookout. The day started out with exciting games and delicious food, mostly made by Vanessa Vanzie. We all enjoyed it. Later that evening we attended worship in the sanctuary. The speaker was Sander Cameau. (Verse 11) “Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments and his statutes, which I command thee this day: (Verse 19) “And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.” Vanessa spoke briefly about the upcoming retreat, “JUST CLAIM IT” to be held in February. The meditation was done by Chinelle Folks “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” She blessed our hearts and so we were prepared for the exhilarating message that we were about to receive. The speaker, Sander Cameau, is a 19 year old who was invited to speak to us. He loves the Lord and has taken upon himself to do His work. He presented a powerful and energetic sermon that pinpointed the kind of people that have “bling bling” problem. That is, money, house, etc. They later forget who gave it all to them. He described these people as having spiritual Alzheimer. The symptoms of this disease include inability to remember facts and events as well as the recognition of friends and family. He said that we can have a house, have money, have relationships, but once we put these materials things in front of God, it will become a problem. God must always come first. When it was all said and done, we had a testimony by our visitor Rio, he talked about his life struggles and how God stood by his side and put him back on track. The sermon came to an end with vesper by Bro. Scipio and benediction by Shantae. We should always remember who gave us the things we posses and be happy and thankful for them, because if it were not for the mercies of our loving Father, we would have nothing.
