The Investigative Judgment

By Melissa Vanzie

What an explosion it was! The night started off with a crash on Sis. Bristol's 50th birthday celebration. When the youth say they are going to conduct Sunday night meetings, they meant it. We might have been out of our element, being downstairs in the fellowship hall, but the night turned out to be just fine.

The speaker of the night was Sis. Vanessa Vanzie. Her topic was "The Investigative Judgment." As Christians believing in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we know that when we confess our sins that they are forgiven, but they are not blotted out. These sins/actions are recorded in a book in heaven, and we will be judged by what is written in this book.

From the very beginning of her sermonette, Vanessa caught the attention of the crowd. With phrases like "50 cent got shot the wrong way," meaning our Savior died for our sins and was resurrected to show us that even in death there is always life in Christ Jesus. The audience could not be distracted from this message. All 50 cent did was get shot a couple of times and rap about it, but we seem to idolize him more than Jesus. THAT'S CRAZY!

We need to be happy that we have a friend like Jesus.  He would do anything for us. How many of our earthly friends would to this for us? I doubt any would. To love us so much means He absolutely loves us despite our flaws, and we need to show Him the same respect with our actions. To love us so much means that we are special and have a special job to do for Him, so let us do that job to the best of our ability.
