On February 19, 2006, Ebenezer’s youth and their visitors all gathered upstairs in the sanctuary to hear another young preacher deliver the word of God. Every Sunday night a signing sheet is set downstairs for the youth to state their opinions as to what they would want to get from the program or to state how they benefit from the sermon every Sunday night.
Vanessa Vanzie, Shem George, and Chinelle Folks started off the evening with singspiration which was followed by the tapping sisters from the Beulah S.D.A church in Canarsie. Denise, Eslin, and Ameeka blessed the church with their wonderful voice. It’s amazing to see people from other churches coming to worship and sing praises with us.
Della and Anisa presented a skit. They acted as two friends, one telling the other about Michael (Jesus). Later, they both got acquainted with our Father and talked about why He is the “I AM.”
Following the skit, we gathered together in a circle to ask God’s blessing on our Pastor Baldwin and to make him well again. We were also blessed with prayers from Shane Orr, Ashley George, Vanessa Vanzie, Elder C. Craig, and Elder J. Richmond. There will be times when the devil will try to bring us down, but as Christians we just have to pray and we know that every thing will be alright.
After the prayer we were blessed with more singspiration from Kathi- Jo. It’s tremendous to see youths using their God-given talents in the church. It was followed by another selection from the Tapping Sisters. Again Denise, Eslin, and Ameeka, send marvelous sounds to our souls, blessing us once more.
The main features was entitled “Can you hear God’s Voice” delivered by our own Tyrell Thomassine. It was an inspiration to every heart. The main idea of his message was simply: “Are we going to be ready when he comes?” “Are we going to hear the trumpet sound on judgment day?” ARE WE?
Elder Gerald Harris offered the closing prayer encouraging each one of us to be ready to receive Jesus when He crack those clouds and call us by our names.
Youth explosion was a brilliant and marvelous one, and we hope that every Sunday night meeting will be the same or even better with energy coming from every corner of the church.
