A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM

By Raquel Ellis

Matthew 18: 3-4 says, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

With this in mind the Young Preachers Corps of the Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Youth Explosion demonstrated their gifts for the Lord by inspiring us to work for Him in whatever capacity we can. The night started with a lively song service. As usual, the beautiful singing did not stop there. We were further blessed with a solo from Kathi-Jo, Chenelle Folks and Shana Orr. This inspiring song prepared our hearts for the night’s message.

The Holy Ghost filled-night started with a life altering experience by one of our promising young ambassadors for the Lord, Michael Innocent. He recalled a night when he could have been dead but the grace of God saved his life.

Four of our promising youths stirred our hearts as they presented their sermons. The four youths involved were Damian Scipio, Yojany Goddard, Alicia Morrison and Kamillah Brathwaite.

Young Yojany; he challenged his peers to take heed to warnings of their parents no matter how unfair it may seem. He quoted Ephesians 6, as to remind us of the mandate Paul gave to us in having a God centered relationship with our parents. Yojany also cautioned the parents not to provoke their children to wrath but bring them up in the admonition of the Lord. It was really inspiring to hear such a powerful message from someone that has not tapped into his full potential as yet.

Kamillah reminded us that the chaos that we live in should not scare us but instead be asignal for us to be ready for Jesus' coming. The different atrocities happening around us are just signs of His coming, so we need to be ready.

Young Damian reminded us that in spite of all, God is still the creator and Lord of our lives. He further said that in spite of everything, God still cares and loves each of us. That was the message I received from his sermon.

Alicia admonished us to never give up hope because He will come again to deliver us from this chaotic world. She also said that as long as we align our lives with His will, our reward will be to live with him. Ultimately this must be the goal of every child of God.

The night was a well spent one with the Lord. It was truly inspiring to see the Youth of Ebenezer actively involved in God's work despite the numerous wordly attraction surrounding them.

Thank you Pastor Baldwin for suggesting such a powerful mission for the Lord. And a special thanks to Elder Scipio for leading such a terrific endeavor to encourage and motivate the youth of our church.
