Temptation, Can’t live holy with it, Can’t live wholly without it.

On March 5, 2006 we had another exhilarating and heart pounding youth program. That night was a special night, not only because we were excited to hear what Vanessa had in store for us, but because we had a very special guest speaker; Pastor Jose H. Cortez.
Shana, Chinelle, and Sister Delandro thrilled our hearts as they each sang for the honor and glory of God. They blessed our hearts tremendously.
Kamilah presented our devotion. The topic was friendship. She specifically stated that we should be careful about the friends we choose or keep.
Vanessa’s topic was “Temptation, can’t live holy with it, can’t live wholly without it.” She gave us reasons on how temptation is more a part of us because we are born of this world.
Pastor Cortez message was entitled  “A life’s long Journey.” He gave us a testimony on how he became a pastor and his trials in becoming one. He also pointed out how some people discouraged him.  He said that when he was a young man he wanted to become a pastor. He asked pastor for help but the pastor turned him down.  Despite all the obstacles, he became a pastor.  On one occasion he was invited to preach at a church.  Sitting in the front row was the pastor who turned him down. 

The evening was dynamic, exciting, touching, and eye opening. Vanessa and Pastor Cortez allowed us to once again kick the devil out of the court and let the almighty God do his part. Come to our youth explosion and see the wonders the youth has to offer.
